I have one of those Epox boards - it is good! Just my personal preference but I would be inclined to stay from Ali chipsets. Are they even around anymore? VIA is an established brand and has been around for a long time. I have used three different boards with the MVP3 chipset and all have worked …

Well when the stuff was new there was reason to get a K6-2 - it was much cheaper. But now with used parts you can get a p3 just as cheap.

I have a couple of Tyan 1854 boards with the Apollo Pro 133 chipset. I could never get voodoo and awe 64 to coexist - I would always wind up with choppy screens and stuttering sound. I tried everything, and I do mean everything. I didn't have the problem with BX or with MVP3.

I would agree with the earlier comments about k6-2. I have run K6-2 and P3 systems of the same speed. If all you're going to do is run office, you might not notice the difference between the two. But on something like video editing or rendering with POV-Ray, the K6-2 would take twice as long as a P3 …

Are you sure you want to mess around with voodoo 2? I have a comparable system (K6-2/500) using a voodoo3/2000 card, that system works well. What motherboard are you using?
