Re: I need your help with a korean? Wavetable Sound Card

in Milliways
SquallStrife, thank you so much for your effort. If I had two of the WS32 cards I would give you one for sure! The disk contains a lot of tools (all in English language), including a super easy and straight forward configuration tool for a resource-management (hex adresses, irq, interface control, …

Thank you all very much for your help. I really appreciate it. My main goal, to find the DOS driver, still remains... Hater Depot , do you know why these websites require the "citizens ID"? Is there some thing like internet tracking of every citizen in Korea? Looks kinda strange to me. Even stranger …

in Milliways
//UPDATE: Scroll down for a first hands-on review of this card! Original Post: Well I just purchased a bundle of old Soundcards. One of them is an WS32 Soundcard from Oksori, bundled with an attached 4MB daughterboard (dream 9233/8905, 4MB ROM). http://www.amoretro.de/wp-content/uploads/oksori_ws32 …

Re: Games with dual OPL2 support for stereo FM?

I have one of these very rare PAS cards in my collection and I must say that it is a very silent card (very little noisy) for its time. It has a way! better signal to noise ratio than the SoundBlaster cards of this period of time. And although Maulwurf is right that MT-32 soundtracks are always …

Re: IBM 5x86 rebound

Nice 2x 66MHz build, but the PCI-Performance is pretty low for an UMC based system. So the graphics performance may be the bottleneck in your system. You should have a PCI memory performance from 18 - 22 MB/s with a common S3 card but not 11 MB/s.

Re: Problems with Chaintech 5AGM2 and P166MMX 2.8V

in PC Emulation
That would be a very capable couple. the 5agm2 supports the k6plus-series of cpu's, so you could use a k6-2+ or 3+. the main advantage is the per-boot changeable multiplier if you require low speeds for old games. that can be very effective in addition of different possible cache settings. you can …

hehe, i did the same years ago on a pc-chips m577 mobo.. i jumpered just the complete opposite of the correct settings. well that may happen when you are concentrating at more than one thing at a time.. great that it works now.. do you want to put a voodoo card in it? sounds like a solid retro …

Re: Showing off some hardware I picked up recently

in PC Emulation
That's a nice find. These cache controllers were very expensive back in the days. You can even do mirroring if you like. And you will crush the 504MB boundary as the cache controller has its own BIOS. @shspvr http://www.amoretro.de/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/tekram_dc-680c_vesa_local_ide_cache_ …

Re: S3 Trio64V+ memory?

in PC Emulation
The Trio64V+ is basically an exellent choice for old dos games. But you can also go for a ViRGE, it features exactly the same 2D-core. Where are you from? I would give you a 2MB card for free (just for the shipping costs). Please take a look at my website AmoRetro.de (link in signature) , you can …
