The ultra's memory has been speed bumped a whole 60mhz compared to the pro/ti models which don't have heatsinks on the memory. Couldn't you just underclock the card?

Quake2 has no 3D audio at all. Try changing the sound mode to "max compatibility" in Q2's options. You may also want to try -wavonly and see if it still happens there FYI this doesn't happen on my AWE64 so i'd blame the drivers at this point. You have the console enabled right? Simply typing gl_texsort in there will tell if if the command is valid since half life will reply with something like "gl_textsort is 1" It also looked liked you typed the parenthesis, don't need those. Just "gl_texsort 1" to change the value. Not all the commands …

Can't a Live do that? I noticed it was enabled as an option for Jedi Knight. I figured it was some sort of emulation or reverse engineering. Because thats a A3D 1.0 game, which creative attempts to support/emulate. They don't support A3D 2.0, which is much better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v= …

If you look at the official H3D glasses they're powered by an AC adapter. However, all the newer sync doubler vga boxes are powered completely by the VGA port. You don't have one nvidia card on you? The old nvidia stereo drivers work on everything til geforce 8. It's not like you cant try it on both cards.

Because of the reduced resolution, higher resoluition=better. It starts to look decentish around 1024x768. What do you have against trying the nvidia drivers? You can even get the box to work on a modern system with some games with 3rd party drivers like iz3d and tridef.
