The TNT2 M64 also makes a great option for DOS games - very compatible and fast. The PCI versions are getting expensive but AGP versions are plentiful and cheap.

This is great thanks OP, I'm testing this out and am getting some speed improvements compared to the previous optimisation tool I was using with my K6-2+. My only suggestion would be to include a command line param that lets you turn off the output, it's very verbose!

The Ensoniq Soundscape isn't properly intelligent mode compatible, it just does some trickery to make it a bit more compatible than your standard UART MPU-401. It doesn't work with Gateway for example.

I had to turn the amp on mine down quite a bit because it was too loud, but in saying that I wasn't comparing it to a DB50XG, which is brutally loud too.
