I played HL back in the day with a Pentium 133 with TNT2 M64 PCI. When indoors or smaller maps I had no issues playing at 1024x768 (probably >15 fps), but as soon as you were outside or in a larger map the frame rate dropping significantly (~10fps).

Man, I would buy one in a heartbeat. If someone made an AT (286) clone board that size, I would use an ATX case to place it in. Yes I don’t have the space for anymore machines so this is perfect. It gives me the best of both worlds basically. Can completely see the preference for original hardware but in this case this suits me very well.

It should run fine even with an M64 in 640x480. Maybe try different video drivers.

Awesome thanks for this! I remember hearing the M64 was similar to the OG TNT but it is good to know. M64 got a lot of hate but isn't bad if the resolution is low.

I could mix 30/72pin ram on my 486 back in the day. I had 2x4MB 72pin & 4x1mb 30 pin for 12MB ram.

In terms of performance the V3 is a lot faster. Quake 3: 1024x768, Lightmap, High, Trilinear, 16bit V3: 38.1fps, M64: 27.5fps 1280x1024, Lightmap, High, Trilinear, 16bit V3: 23.0fps, M64: 14.8fps M64 is really too slow to do 32bit colour. V3 2000 is similar to TNT2 Ultra speed.
