$US255 inc postage to Australia for a 3dfx Voodoo 5 5500 AGP 4x Rev.A2 3500 Pre-Production Prototype. Also $AU1600 for about 20 SGI workstations. Half of that cost was just postage from Melbourne to Sydney!!

Very interested in this thread, I also recently purchased an M3D for Mech 2 but haven't had a chance to use it yet! These cards are pretty hard to find in Australia now.

Yep looks like a 2000 modal, but that is fine. Voodoo 3 should work well, obviously not at full performance, but a lot better than the Trio.

Back in the day I had a Pentium 233MMX and it easily overclocked to 266, in fact I think I even got it to 290MHz (3.5x83) without any issues. Don't remember doing anything with voltage, but I may have. Didn't get hot either, was a good/easily overclock.

At some point in time I was able to make Windows 2000 use the Voodoo 2 to display the desktop, some specific driver allowed this. Worked fine if I remember correctly. Not sure how 😀
