Re: [BUG] midi_alsa BUG in CVS

I get this as well, I put it down to it being ALSA 1.0 as a fair bit of other stuff is broken too (pretty much everything that relies on ALSA 0.9.x headers). This usally happens in situations like this, it's like backaward compatibility is some kind of foreign concept to open source developers.

There's no sane reason to use FAT32 on NT systems. In this situation, if you absolutely must use FAT32 (I don't view this as an excuse personally, I just gave up playing the games that didn't run adequately on an NTFS partition until workarounds evolve to a usuable stage), create a dedicated …

Re: Demos /w "Extra Stuff"

I don't know if either of these really count but the Descent: FreeSpace demo had an extended version of the first mission "Eve of Destruction." In the full game, the mission ends shortly after Delta wing arrive to relieve you but in the Demo there are a couple more wings of Vasudans after Delta …

Re: Warcraft

I don't need to run Duke3D in DosBox, icculus.org took care of that for me already ;) What I needed from Dosbox was the ability to generate and edit the DUKE3D.CFG files without b0rking up the mouse sensitivity settings (and without having to reboot into Windows). 0.58 wouldn't let me do that, …

Re: Warcraft

The CVS code does seem to work with DOS4GW stuff, I emerged it last night and in addition to getting the Duke3D setup program running (which really was the only reason I installed it in place of 0.58) I managed to get Terminal Velocity (albeit godawfully slow) running. How long before this matures …

Would you recommend any software synth in particular? Thanks, Yamaha have a software MIDI synthesiser, a copy of it is supplied with the PC version of Final Fantasy VII. I'm not overly familiar with it so I don't know where else you'd be able to get it or even if it can be installed on Windows 2000 …

As a dialup surfer, there's no way in hell that I'm going to use a browser with a built-in ad banner. I've been using Opera on dial-up for three years and the ad banner hasn't resulted in any noticable reduction in browsing speed. Quite the opposite in fact. Opera is consistently much faster than …

There have been options in the preferences that tailor the advertising to your liking for years but I've never touched those. The ads seem random enough, right now it's showing one for Ebay and I practically never go there.

You're running on a really slow CPU Opera runs fine on slow CPUs, why can't Moz? You don't have much RAM see above. You don't have Quick Launch turned on (just in case you were wondering, Microsoft does this with their products, just behind your back -- that's why Windows appears to take up so much …

If Mozilla isn't crap now, it soon will be: http://mozilla.org/roadmap.html Phoenix sucks, even moreso than the regular Moz. Making it the new Moz platform is just further proof that evolution well and truly forgot the Moz developers.

Oh for fucks sake, just rename the General and Development forums in each category so they each contain the catgegory name. eg: The General and Development forums in the VDMSound category become VDMSound General an VDMSound Development and so on. Even Snover should be able to do that...

Here we are. I've included everything I remember you needing to get going but if anythings missing let me know and I'll see about getting them to you. I've also included the documentation which should explain how to get them up and running. Most of the files can be extracted into their own directory …
