This is one of my favorite perks of having a decent collection that if something isn't suited or I decide to use a different flavor I can, I am always collecting cards especially when the interest is low and prices are very low.

I've done the same thing to a 9800 GT, there will be an alignment issue but it won't stop you from mounting the cooler just be warned though the memory runs pretty hot and this might not be enough.

This cpu when sold at retail used to come with a cooler in box for a good reason and not sure why people would skimp on cooling.

This is one reason to hoard up when things are cheap and enjoy later, 775 and agp is slowly getting to be kinda expensive depending on what the community is doing but there are usually dips when interest is low so you should still have a couple of opportunities before it gets out of hand.

If there is no power only two things come to mind and one is very very unlikely as you would have had to make the change yourself with a utility, chances are the controller got zapped by esd or got a cold joint. The heads should be parked anyway and that shouldn't be the issue.

929 x2 is almost certainly a bottleneck for a 280 sli rig and I would consider skipping 775 for a couple of reasons even though it was not uncommon during that time for someone to do that but I feel something more modern would give these cards a breath of fresh air. 7900 GTX sli on a 939 is just …

Board or psu is the issue as getting a dud of a cpu is pretty unlikely but certainly possible.

Firefox used to be pretty decent on old hardware until recent years where even modern computers are now struggling to run it should you have more than a couple of tabs open, eats up ram like nothing else.
