hmm, it doesn't say that but that you notice it working and then you get the prompt again. The console says (after executing the command) "Parallel Port: Assuming ECP port."

That is probably the issue in dosbox, so I would like to hear how the results are with higher cycles. The lag is there even when run at much higher cycles. The whole party runs like mad, but you still notice the itsy bitsy tiny lag. It is definitely not the way it is supposed to be working. I …

I do see the same little lag with current CVS. BUT I do think this is the way it is supposed to be working, since U7 cached the world in and out every couple of steps. I see this behaviour with BG still at very high cycles (though it is noticeably less obvious) when the party runs on …

Again, this is clearly not a dosbox problem but a problem with your computer and whatever program runs in the background. Dosbox just isn't that kind of program that sometimes runs like this and other times like that. If nothing changes on the computer dosbox always runs the same.

No need to bump here. If no one knows the answer then they won't reply. *But* if it worked fine when you changed the drivers and it suddenly stopped working again, I don't think it's an issue with Dosbox. You *could* try the different outputs in dosbox.conf to see which one gives you problems.

Probably no one thought of it and/or the OP didn't test it. But Dosbox isn't a command line utility (only the program itself looks like Dos, hence a bit like the command line) 😀
