Yeah, even the intro works fine now. All praise Dosbox (as it now runs every Ultima, except U9, to me Dosbox is perfect and needs no further development 😀)

Of course, I'd use Exult (especially after having written its FAQ and documentation) but I wouldn't save it as it can be easily and legally downloaded 😀

the former was just to make fun. The Blaster value is required by the Live and the Audigy to configure their legacy drivers. is just wrong. they don't even need it. If the VDMS for Windows 9x doesn't work for you.. well, how about reading through all those posts? Maybe also read any documentation …

Ah, I remember. Load a data CD into your CD-Rom and it should work. Zh installer checks for all availlable space on all drives and since back then CD-Roms not yet existed it doesn't handle it correct.

What system are you running Dosbox on? The problem with the way you are going is that once you mounted the floppy disk you *can't* change it (well, you can but Dosbox doesn't recognize this and therefore you run into the problem you have). Yes for exult you need a your data on the hard drive. Seems that maybe your disks got bad 🙁 (btw for all the others, Dosbox (http://dosbox.sf.net) also runs both Ultima 7 now)

the copying directly to hd was already good. Make sure all the files are NOT read-only. Then look at all the exe files in the main dir. Run Uinstall.exe and select sound and music card. Off topic: Cluster size. The general advice is to balance cluster-size and file-size. Meaning, if you have a lot of stuff going on and big files on a hd it is no use to have a small cluster-size. It runs for me (P4-2,66 GHz) in dosbox but requires you to start with a high number of cpu-cycles and this may vary from pc to pc. And then you have to skip the intro with esc and lower the cycles again to get a nice synchronisation...

Plans? There are no plans. Probably everyone moves on to something else. Jeff will most likely be sticking with his Exult Studio baby and I'm going to stick with that and Pentagram for now (anyone wondering, I'm not a programmer, just the testing/support/documentation/faq -guy).
