That might be because Virtual PC doesn't emulate 3D acceleration, which you could have learned from reading the Wikipedia article, for instance... The easiest solution for you would really be installing 98SE or XP on a second partition.

You can get much better deals than that even on ebay. I wouldn't pay that price. I've noticed these insane BIN prices as well and I don't get it either, but this kind of hardware really isn't that rare or special...

The board I named has more VRMs and a P4 connector, making it more usable with newer PSUs 😀

Yeah, Australis is utter garbage. Obvious Chrome knock-off, but with reduced functionality compared to the (not exactly great either) design they previously had... even with Classic Theme Restorer it's still missing the header on top, and the bookmark star icon doesn't indicate already bookmarked …

Interesting benchmarks. The results seem all over the place in 3DMark2000 as the Obsidian SB50-4220 (Voodoo1 with second TMU) is even slower than a regular Monster 3D. I guess the card uses a driver that isn't optimized for Direct3D. For the other cards the extra memory has a huge effect in that …

Have you tested how newer games run on this card? Unreal Tournament etc. I don't think this was a popular card as Voodoo1/2 being fullscreen only makes them suboptimal for CAD. I can't see the 4 MB framebuffer being that useful in games either as a Voodoo1 is just too slow for 800x600 in newer …

It wasn't, but OP didn't give any information on what temps he gets during load. As per the article posted previously they should be more reasonable than what is seen on the image.

Tried 1.02? This thread suggests accelerated mode should work on the Rage Pro under 98SE (unlike Radeon).

That's for reserving IRQs for non-PnP cards, so that the system won't try assigning those to PnP cards. PnP OS I'm not quite sure about, it never seemed to make a difference for me. I guess it's better turned off for DOS.

The Monkey Island issue has probably to do with your PC being too fast. Disable L1/L2 caches and it should work. I'd leave the LAPC-I at 330 because that's the port that a lot of games from that time default to, while with General MIDI supporting games you can usually change the port. For the AWE64 …

"Power?" If you read reviews from the time it becomes clear that the Millennium was considered to have the fastest VGA core at its release, though compatibility can be a different story.
