I think I may have set some sort of record here. I had to cheat a little by overclocking the 9800 Pro, and I also used an older driver (5.8 instead of my usual 7.3) but there it is. Over 12K on a P3!

Just a couple of months ago my overclocked P3-S could handle Youtube in 480p fullscreen with only 70-85% CPU use. But then Adobe decided to limit hardware acceleration to DX10 GPUs...those bastards. My once mighty P3 is now limited to 360p windowed mode, and with plenty of screen tearing.

I wasn't able to find a fix (at least for my card) in any of the Google results I looked at. 1280x720, 1280x768, and 1920x1080 are the only widescreen resolutions that work. It seems that my x800XT All-in-wonder is also very picky about which resolutions it will support over DVI.

The Via Apollo Pro 266 would get my vote. I had a board based on that chipset (QDI Advance 12) and the performance was great.
