Yep. Unless there's something going on with one of those other boards that I don't know about, the P3B-F is definately the cream of the crop.

Received and put together my new test bench rig for AGP/SDR RAM parts. MSI K7T Turbo 2 Athlon XP 2200+ 1gb PC133 PNY GeForce 4 ti4200 It'll be used for testing out parts before they go into some of my other retro builds (as well as those that I may be building in the future 😈 ).

Just so you know, 940 is server-only socket. And designed for multi-socket / dual-cpu boards mainly. Any and all socket 940 boards you find will be very basic. That is, no overclocking what so ever. It's a "work station" class socket, not consumer grade. At least this is my general finding in a …

Nice! I received in the mail today a 1.44 floppy drive to replace an old dead one along with 40 new disks for $9. And I received an MSI GeForce 4 ti4200 for my slot A build. $4.75. Not bad.

Correct about the hard drive. For now I'm going to leave it and somehow use the other hard drive area to mount an intake fan. Here is the article I mentioned. Good read in my opinion. In this case they pair a 1950 with an xp2500+ and show that in a lot of cases there is a good boost when compared to older cards that most people usually pair with a socket a system. Yes it is a bit overpowered but gives you newer technology than a lot of the cards that are a bit older that are a better match speed wise. I remember an article from those days that showed most games still getting a boost from the top of the line agp cards including the 1950, but even up to a 3850 …

Looks like a great build to me! That board was considered one of the best for the socket a platform. I think a 1950is the perfect pairing for a 3200+ as well. What are your plans for it?

Well, more CPU power is better in most cases, but an Athlon XP would more than max out a Voodoo 5 anyway. So the Pee4 would be overkill and then some. If I was building this I'd go with the Athlon build and do something different with the other.
