brostenen: about non-working (ISA) stuff. Before declaring them dead, test them in another slot, clean the contacts with rubber, in the end test them in another system. Also check the jumpers if any... It's most probably dead if all this fails 😉

Newer PCI versions are know not to work on 486 boards. I haven't tested with Socket 7 boards.

The thing is, I have a Thinkpad 500 without a power adapter. I noticed someone is selling the above model in my not-so-near area and was thinking of using it's power adapter to test the 500 as it's around the same age. Benchmarks that scale well are 3dbench 1.0c, Quake timedemo and Doom. I found these to be spot on when doing cache turning off experiments :) Quake wouldn't even load for me with L1 cache disabled... Yeah, it's very slow to load on my P133 with L1D. It took many minutes just to load up, then many …

Went through some of my boxes... and it seems I have quite a few cards stashed 😊 ISA VGA... ~70 ISA SOUND... ~60 VLB VGA... ~15 PCI VGA... ~60 AGP VGA... ~70 Still didn't find the time to catalogue anything... maybe in the summer 🤣

I got a regular 233MMX run at 315MHz, also posts at 330MHz at 3V. This was only one cpu tested on one board (Gigabyte 5AX). When I get the time I'll try the rest of my 200-233MMX how far can they reach. I have one Tillamook 233MHz in a notebook. But I don't think I'll dismantle it 🤣

It's nice to have a complete system with FPU and all... Falcon 3 would probably run quite OK with just a FPU emulator - your system with 486DLC is quite fast after all. About FPU, you can use any 386 FPU with the DLC. I also believe that there is no real difference between 387DX and 487DLC versions …

Congrats on the board. It looks nice :) Manual is probably not really needed as it's pretty simple board. It supports 386DX and 486DLC (maybe even 486SXL) processors. You can select 25, 33 and 40MHz operation via jumpers. Cache is already at the maximum (128KB). BIOS is the only question at this …

I've tested CD drives on a 386SX and up. They work fine. Also don't see a reason for DVD drives not to work although I didn't test them. Just configure them as slave (hdd as master) and connect to IDE cable. ISA controllers have only one IDE channel for two drives (master & slave).
