I've tested CD drives on a 386SX and up. They work fine. Also don't see a reason for DVD drives not to work although I didn't test them. Just configure them as slave (hdd as master) and connect to IDE cable. ISA controllers have only one IDE channel for two drives (master & slave).

I used Boxer. Early versions are DOS only. Not sure if there was a version for win31. But there are for new Windows. It has highligting, macros... you name it. I liked it very much. Still use new versions from time to time.

That's a good advice. But as I understand he already bought it or at least made a deposit. Otherwise his buying plan is pretty fast. In my case we were on the look for almost two years.

It's some VIP (vesa, isa, pci) 486 motherboard. It looks it has cache modul on board which is good. UMC chipset is also a better one. I'd guess cpu is at least 100MHz.

I used keyboard only and was quite comfortable in navigation back in the days of D1 and D2. I tried it again a few years ago and just couldn't repeat the experience 🙁 This DEMO looks nice...

150W is more than enough for any s370 system or even 775 one - of course you can't really go over board with graphic card. I'd put something s370 1GHz and Geforce 3/4ti.

I might have gotten a ISA/EISA 386/486 combo motherboard... not tested yet, so can't really say I'm on the lookout for EISA graphic card 😀 Would be nice to see some real world performance - 386_junkie? 😉
