It is truly a sad situation when a company has a policy to only junk old IT equipment and not even consider there is a better use for it. I am glad to say that company I work for is willing to let me take old equipment as long as the hard drive or SSD is removed.

I decided to pick up a couple of the AMD K6-III+/500ACR while those are still available from this seller. These are getting harder and harder to find. Most of the ones I see available now are 400MHz or less.

The documentation online says that JP42 should have Pins 3+5 & 4+6 closed for 5V operation. Looking at the silk screening on motherboard indicates that jumper 3+4 & 5+6 closed is for 3V operation. I found some NOS 256K x 16 SOJ 40-pin 35ns memory on eBay for $4 for a lot of 2. The part # is ISSI IS41C16256-35K . I am getting 2 lots and will put totally new memory on the video card.
