Yeah GTA3 was murder on systems at the time, it wasn't untill GF3 that mainstream cards could do it really, unless you had an ULTRA or something wacky. I wish it would let me try it with my V2 SLI for laughs.

Speaking of an 8800GT, my personal testing has proven the HD4000 in a MacBook to run as fast as one. Not exact, but goddamn impressive considering the GPU is integrated into the CPU die.

LucasArts had an inhouse modified installshield installer that is 16 bit that they used forever, I think they only stopped around 2002. It causes so many goddamn problems.

Man I would KILL for working 3D accel in qemu/bochs. A fully working "9xbox" sorta program would solve so many of my problems. Slap a 4GB win98 VM (With 100% working DX7 support and such!) on a USB drive. Someday, someday.

I've used a GF2 MX myself for a while, you'd be best to only use it for games along the Y2K barrier, anything past 2001 is gonna be slow. It's not too bad though, but see if you can get a GTS in there.

Jedi Knight works fine with an HD4000, so I /think/ that confirms it has the 16 bit whatever- the game is entirely 16bit dx6.

Everything works on 98se (oddly 98 even works fine with a gig of ram), but I can't for the life of me get the voodoos to work with xp at all. Okay I've got the GF2 to init after I switched the Voodoo 2 cards in the slots, which is weird but whatever I'll take it. The voodoo 2 cards now refuse to work under 2k, but work fine on 9x. I tried disabling and uninstaling one, leaving only one v2 in control panel, that didn't work. Ugh

They are both primary, I use Partition Magic 8 for my dual booting. I'll try that, but I'm installing clean so I don't see how it will help. E: Honestly I would rather fix 2k, but the XP error might lend a clue to what's wrong with 2K.

Same drive, split into two 15gb partitions, since 2K or even OS/2 has no problem installing to the second partition I don't see why XP would.

I've found that 2K atleast has a little bit faster opengl, not much but why not dualboot? I've used both an MSDN vanilla SP3 disk and a slipstreamed disk with all updates as of april, both broke. TBH I would rather have XP work, but I have no idea where to even begin with that problem.
