Re: What game are you playing now?

I don't get it -- why isn't that just a setting that can be turned on and off to increase/decrease performance? So annoying! It's inherent to the megatexture technology. How much VRAM do you have, by the way? 6GB but that seems irrelevant since the console command can only be forced to utilize …

Re: What game are you playing now?

With my new Ryzen system up and running mainly playing the following: -Doom 2016. I know, late to the party. Even with 1050ti card looks great, wish I was a natural at shooters. -Witcher 2. So far only in the arena "free for all" combat. Seems easier than Witcher 1, graphics look good. -Wolfenstein …

Re: What game are you playing now?

I thoroughly enjoyed Witcher 1. The combat was more akin to an RPG like Dragon Age: Origins or KOTOR and the styles and combat animations were far more enjoyable than what little I played of Witcher 2 which was more of a hack and slash action RPG.

Re: What game are you playing now?

WinBack: Covert Operations on my N64. I just rage quit pretty hard, though. I'm very far along in the game and this stage I'm is SEVERELY lacking a checkpoint midway through. For a game that invented third-person cover system it has a handful (still too many) of areas designed where you have no …

Re: What game are you playing now?

I'm not sure why they haven't considering they've just recently released New Order and Old Blood. It was actually …

Re: What game are you playing now?

I've been rebuying Securom physical copies of my Windows XP games in my Steam library and buy games on there anymore - if it's not on GOG I don't buy it. The only exception are the damn Steam giftcards people give me every Christmas. Right now I'm playing Wolfenstein 2009 - physical copy works fine …

Re: Best WinXP Video Card

"best" winXP card is tough because some games are broken when going from the nvidia 7xxx series to the 8xxx series due to the introduction of unified shaders vs the older shader model 3.0. I got a pc case recently that had a bunch of usable stuff inside, perfect for XP. Athlon II X2 4800+ running …

Re: Best WinXP Video Card

Kepler is great. Not only is my $150 Titan Black severely overpowered but I've not run into a single compatibility issue even going back as far as Far Cry 1 and Return to Castle Wolfenstein. I'm curious if it will do frame buffer effects in Knights of the Old Republic, though.
