Thanks for all this guys. I don't want to make another thread about it, but which chipsets or boards with universal AGP slots had guaranteed 100% 3.3v AGP 1x/2x compliance? The reason I ask is I want to safely use a Voodoo card in one.

Many many thanks for that swaaye 😀 Id been searching ages & came up with nothing Did any of the 462 boards come with a 751 chipset? Or was it only Slot A? EDIT: just realised the GA-7IXE4 had the 751. duh. 😵

Morning folks, Im trying find out which Socket 462 boards came out with AMDs 760/761 chipset so I don't have to wade through endless VIA chipped boards for sale. The only one I know of is Gigabytes GA-7IXE4, but if anyone knows of others that would be great 😀

I know they weren't popular courtesy of their abysmal performance. And I certainly don't expect to find them listed on ebay at any given time, it's just a thought that enters my mind when browsing. If anyone happens to come across one please let me know 😀

Evening all, During my regular strolls through ebay, Ive noticed that ive never come across any XGI V5s, V8s or duos. All jokes aside about them being in dumpsters, where are they all? Does anyone here have one? Just one of those obscurities that Id love to have in my collection. 😀

@wocko1: I am led to believe a lot of the older 3dfx DOS games prefer the V1. Also you will see no performance benefit on that rig using a V2. And afaik, only the 5500 & 4500 made it past the prototype stage.

With Project Croft id suggest changing out the m64 with either; Geforce2 GTS Voodoo5 (if the board supports 1x 3.3v agp) Kyro2 (just for something different, not really that powerful) Adding a Voodoo1 to Project Dopefish would be good too 😀

If we are talking strictly PC games, then; Fury 3 C&C4 (not an "old" game, but it was so bad it deserves to be overhauled to honour the rest of the franchise) Duke3D Doom, D2 & FD ROTT All I can think of for now.

The internet was a nicer place to be before the advent of social media. The only thing I don't miss was Dialup connection speeds.

I am a collector of CPUs. Doesn't always have to be rare, but I believe the rarest one I have is my IBM (Cyrix) 5x86C 100. And maybe my MII 366GP. Being an AMD fanboy, theres still a number of AMD CPUs id love to get a hold of. I sadly don't have a K5 yet 🙁 Or an Athlon FX 😢

My rig in 98 was an Acer Aspire. 300A Celeron, 48mb ram, rage pro turbo onboard & a 3.2gb hdd 🤣 Wish I still had it. My current equivalent is an IBM Aptiva K6-2 450, 128mb RAM, Rage pro turbo onboard, V2 8mb & a 20gb hdd.
