The older VXD drivers have an OPL2 MIDI device and a Softsynth device that uses a 3 MB DLSWAVE.DAT, but I haven't tested it because the digital output stopped working on my CMI-8738. I have another CMI-8738 with digital but I won't be able to install it until the weekend.

px is working now with auddrvfm. Something must have been wrong with the devdrv.ini I was using. I used one that was included in the px109 zip file and after replacing adlib with auddrvfm, success.

I have a PCI ESS Solo-1 1938, and I get an error "Failed to open driver auddrvfm.ad" in MS-DOS. Does auddrvfm only work with the older ISA ESS sound cards? Adlib.adv, Sbp2fm.adv, and wss.adv work though in px. I just wanted to hear if auddrvfm uses ESFM.
