Basically, it was a bad jumper setting (volume and hum). As for the stuck note, that was just init3dxg.exe trying to initialize my Monster Midi with settings meant for a DB60XG . I will switch to Tiido's excellent looking setymf . Now excuse me while I go kick myself .

Maybe try setting the DMA channels to low and disabling the SB emulation resources .

If you can live with standard VGA, apparently the audio might be SB16 compatible High DMA problem (GUS / SB16)

First and foremost, does it work with these settings under DOS (synth and wave out) Second, are any non-plugnplay devices installed ? Third, is your ISA bus running faster than 8 or so MHz ?

Even if you do get line in to work on the Realtek, how do you expect to get HDMI or Displayport audio to work under DOS ? If the Yamaha works under DOS and Windows, why bother with the Realtek ? Probably safer to get a step down transformer. 120V vs 100V is 20% . In doubt, I would ask Roland. They are very supportive of their older gear .
