I'm not really following. What games have you tried? How are you passing through HW to a win98 VM? Why are you bothering with any of these things if you want 4K res gaming?

That makes sense. It said "color" in the article and datasheet but I see that's just marketing notes. At a glance I thought it as clocking an NTSC color burst or something.

It's the filter design of a switched mode power supply. I notice it more when gaming (not all games!) I think because the video card thrashes such large deltas of power use, constantly trying to stay power efficient and cool. It's sudden load changes on the PSU. Could you tell me who exactly, that is a general computer user, is going to ever switch to a non-GUI interface? Sure you can do a ton of things without a GUI, but 99+% of users have no need and no desire to even try to learn how do do stuff from the command line. Computing tasks, not desktop …

MS was good PC training wheels. It still the defacto OS brand on new PCs which aren't by Apple and is a household name. Surface mount capacitor for filtering. White line means it has a +/- polarity. The card still works but it is not noise filtered to spec. It's large for a SMD so it's easier to desolder and swap. I'm not sure about the code on it.

Software which runs in Win98 was meant for the 5 - 33MB/s drives of those days. 8X CD drive is only 1MB/s.
