There is a Joystick patch for WC3, that should fix your bug (Did so for me and others). Check www.wcnews.com Files section for it.

First of: DOS or Windows version? If windows version: Have you tried comp modes yet and setting res to 640x400 (or was it 640x480?) with the red-alert config tool? Wing Commander III runs way too slow under the current DosBox 0.61. But thx to the newer CVS versions, it's really playable. - No sound crackling and movies play perfect for me. Now there are only two probs left: -when hitting enemies in fight, it slows down a lot. Still playable, but very annoying …

You could also just edit your autoexec.bat in the config-file to mount your c drive automatically etc. And if the settings defer from game to game just make several diff conf files - including starting the game and ending dosbox afterwards. That's what I do. This way I don't need another tool and …

I'll give you a bump, cause some others also have the same problem in other games (WC2, for example). Using an USB Joystick always fixed it, but I guess there is also a better solution than that.

Yes, could be possible, especially cause Privateer runs way better with the latest CVS (at least that is what I read 😉 ) - Instead of 2Ghz now under 1GHz is enough for perfect playing 😁
