I have found a solution. I made a copy of the MS-DOS prompt on my Desktop. Right click on it --> Properties --> Memory --> changed XMS from automatic to a set value and the installation of Panzer General started.

Having the BLASTER variable set is a good sign. You should be able to manually configure each game for address 220, IRQ 5, DMA 1. Do you have those problems inside Windows, or when booting into DOS? A PCI sound blaster most likely won't help. I have the problems only inside DOS applications. As …
