On witch system is the screen out of center? Maybe it is a problem with the resolution and refresh rate. How do you run glide games on the Dell? it has no voodoo card installed. Do you use a 3dfx emulator, or use software rendering in glide game?

yes the build in emulation is not perfect. But it works for most games (tryed nascar racing, duke3d, toonstruck, the need for speed, wing commander 3) It fails with screamer2 / screamer rally. You do not need vdm sound under win98se. Win98 has a soundblaster pro emulation build in. Just open a dos-box inside Win98 and type SET. There should be a line displayed BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T4. This works for most Dos-Games.

i never tryed. I use 2 partitions , one with win95 , the othe one with win 3.11 It's because i hope i can stop win 3.11 to corrupt any long Filenames from win95.

Don't know where commander2000 installs, but when its in the MBR then a FDISK /MBR from the XP-Repair-Console (booted from xp-cd) should help.

I just use 512 MB Ram from the 3 GB Ram when booting Win98. Himemx limits the Ram

If you have win98 installed on C: and then install xp on another partition D:, E:, etc... then XP will install a boot menu where you can choose between 98 and XP

I would use Win98se for operating system. Identify your Hardware and search Drivers for Dos/Win98 for network, sound, graphics and motherboard chipset. I would use a twisted pair network with an 8 port switch.

My first Motherboard with Pentium 75 can be slowed down by Hotkey (ctrl) + (alt) + (-) to 8 MHz or normal speed by (ctrl) + (alt) + (+). The board has a connector for the Turbo LED.

have you tryed Plop-Boot-Manger ? have you tryed standard chs. (504 mb) and partition, format and install dos again ? had the board ever booted from a hdd. and when yes which System ?

It should be possible to set the output to 1280x1024 or something like this (1280x720) (1600x900) and use 2x or 3x scaler. Then let the monitor upscaling from 1280x1024 to native Resolution.

Should work with Win9x too, but you have to change autoexec.bat, config,sys und msdos,sys for the version you want to boot. I do this with 2 Win98SE Installations on 1 HDD. You can also Split the CF card into 4 partitions, each 1 GB and use a Boot_Manager like Bootstar or XFdisk
