Definitely - if you can get WfW, then that adds 32BFA (vcache) to the 32BDA that plain Win 3.11 has - also the MS TCP/IP stack is only available for WfW - those are the two things that make it stand out. For things that don't use expanded (EMS) memory, availability of upper memory for loadhigh/devicehigh can be increased by using the NOEMS parameter on EMM386. It may be needed for those "last straw" situations.

Yep, I slipped up, saw AMD 386 and assumed 40. If you can find a card that does ALL the IO (IDE, floppy, serial & parallel) then it would be one less card. From what I managed to look up on the winbond chips, it looks like the serial is single character buffered, ok for lower speed - maybe up to 19. …

MMm, NEC V30, I remember those - they confuse the hell out of some tests, but realistically, they do have a bit more kick at the same clockspeed, though not as much as some tests show when they emphasize the instructions which are a lot faster.

PQFP selection? Plastic Quad Flat Pack - if there is an onboard PQFP CPU, then that setting sounds like it wold be to disable it in favour of a socketed one. The details also suggest that the onboard graphics is local bus - if that's true, then any ISA card would be unlikely to compete
