This might be common sense, but I'd look for scratches across the traces if your getting the boards out of a haphazard pile of them. That's the biggest problem with getting parts from junk piles. Top boards scratch the bottom ones, so gotta be careful.

Theres a 5800 Ultra in that dumpster pic. I would not throw that away. That is like finding a free voodoo 5 6000. Yea for really bad boards I use a Alcohol\Hydrogen peroxide\Oxi-clean\Water mix, (its safe) let it set in that mix for a couple hours in that mix and take a very soft toothbrush to the areas with corrosion. Good choice. That SB is really dusty, you should clean it. Its perfectly safe to run them under the faucet cold\lukewarm water, then let them dry for 6-24hrs depending how hot it is that day. I do that with all my parts, I receive in condition like that.

Just picked up the package with the FIC-Board, GFX and Memmory. The only PCI card I still use on dos is a S3, sonic vibes. Seems to pretty much have the compatibility of an ISA card, with the games I run, and sounds somewhat ok in dos, but its not quite as good as a real ISA card with the ymf-262. Also has decent GM in windows and its easy to switch to FM synth …

Isn't that the card that routes its wave-table midi to opl3? and sounds really wacky as a result? Or is it the same as the creatives later version of the sound blaster PCI 128? I have a couple of those, never really used them much.
