There are no soundfonts that can replicate XG effects. But there is a softsynth made by Yamaha that emulates a MU50 which is close to the MU100: https://veg.by/en/projects/syxg50/

Got the sc155 up and running today. I’m playing back a midi file to sc88 and the sc155 and the sc88 is bad. The sc155 sounds almost identical to the mt32. So I’m not sure what is going on. Is the sc155 basically a mt32 also? The sc155 says gs/gm and the sc88 also is gs/gm. I’m just wondering what …

I think you're trying to cover too many bases here. You won't have much fun running newer 3D games like Unreal Tournament or games like Age of Empires 2 on a Pentium 1. An Nvidia or ATI graphics card that is 10 years newer than that mainboard likely won't work because of changed PCI specifications. …

The internal batteries inside these old Toshibas leak and damage the mainboard. You must open it and remove/replace the green battery.

Check what's written on the CPU socket. If it's a Socket 5 then you will definitively be limited to the slower pentiums ( Usually 133MHz max)

It almost certainly won't play retro games if that is what you want. In fact it might not even have a standard BIOS. The CPU is that intel chip and indeed loks like a 286. Not sure about video output, might be EGA, VGA or something completely proprietary. Also there are no standard extension slots …
