Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Daniel, thanks for that very expensive report! Unfortunately I can only fix problems that are related to the current MS DX implementation. Fixing game-related problems like heat-haze are out of scope of dgVoodoo development. It would require modifying game code. Anyway I'll try to …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

One question: do shadows appear in SC1 with ForcedShadowMode=1 (shadowbuffer) and EmulateGF2= 0 using your old hardware? I've struggled with it all day but it's very obscure for me what the game does. It seems to render shadow maps properly but it more or less 'forgets' to utilize them later in the …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Also if you use the mouse to input code there is a shift of the input. You need to press the keys with an offset in order input the code. I think this is because of the wide aspect ratio of my monitor. On a 4:3 is possible not to see this. Is this fixable? https://thirteenag.github.io/wfp#sec6 …

Level 2 and 3. Seems that the problems with light color and flashing stuff(walls are the best examples) is general. Here's some examples: http://i.imgur.com/mavcznd.png http://i.imgur.com/sgPfsRK.png http://i.imgur.com/0Yqr3xA.png http://i.imgur.com/mjQrZyb.png http://i.imgur.com/xnvKfyv.png Now …

Re: YT Video: Building a retro gaming PC for Splinter Cell!

in Windows
Hey I'am not saying that the game works in a VM. I'am saying that some shadows can be seen (and the game was not set for projector shadows). It's set for shadows buffers My logic is : if some shadows can be seen then with some driver/wrapper fixes it may be possbile to fix the missing shadows. That's …

Re: Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow

in Windows
Remember the last version is 0.05 not even 0.1.It's a very early beta. It works good on win 7. On win Xp i dont think i had a crash. You can check the logs the wrapper has created it and list the content here. I believe he will return to this project some time in the near feature, i hope.

Re: Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow

in Windows
So, one more time :) Win XP: 169.xx or below you dont need the wrapper. It will play normal. This is the orignal state to which i compare From 169.xx upwards , without wrapper, you'll have no shadows. With wrapper you'll have the shadows , lights back. Now, if you play(i know only geforce cards) …

Re: Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow

in Windows
As Komat pointed out, Nvidia changed something into the drivers after 169.xx series(you can go to his site a follow some links there) . Playing SC with older drivers + wrapper will break things. When playing SC with the wrapper you need any driver after 169.xx series. Funny thing with Komat's …

Re: Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow

in Windows
I bought my self some new parts for my workstation. I just felt the need to use my 7950gx2(s) and play some SCPT+ wrapper on fresh installed Win7. You know what the funny part is? it plays perfect. There are no extra shadows/lights/colors. There is something in these cards the game is using. :) ( …

Re: Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow

in Windows
Will try. Will be back will some results. later on. I played with the wrapper at 4k on my modern system and 1080p on my 7950gx2 and i didnt see anything. Thanks I've just tried this myself with the wrapper and it's not quite what you're saying. The heat haze effect appears to be tied to resolution! …

Re: Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow

in Windows
I didnt run any numbers yet on SCPT but i can tell you that it is struggles even at lowest settings(resolution. shadows, effects). A bit hard to enjoy or to test. The same for SC1.
