EDIT: Now I managed to get the graphics to look right (dynamic mode) but the game is still highly unstable. It crashed shortly after again. Speed is okay though.

I got this problem: The intro runs fine, speed is fine too - BUT: the 3D characters are messed up. I only see the wireframe, not the textures. Also, it crashed shortly after. I'll continue messing with the settings, see what it does.

DOS32A seems to work pretty well - I tried it with many games including Worms, Blood, etc. and they all improve the performance. Not by much, but every bit helps. I just rename the dos32a.exe to dos4gw.exe and overwrite the original file - or is there a way that works better ?

I bought this game off eBay (CD) and have the same problem 🙁 they die as if drowning and I get odd glitches. ANyone have any fixes for this ?

One note: the /g:BIOS tag doesn't work with the popular abandonware version on the net - it has a starcon2.com crack that will run the game without the need for the starmap. Luckily, I bought the original Starcon 2 in mint condition (still in plastic wrap) on ebay for a dollar or two :D and it works …

Thanks - I already used a special disk for IBM computers and that said they were all free but maybe Win95 is preventing me from using them so I'll give it a go, thanks!

Okay that didn't work and I'm running out of ideas. The pure DOS drivers won't install since it's Win95 🙁 even when running in true DOS. And if I make a DOS 6.0 bootdisk it won't read my FAT32 HDD.

Yeah I know - CTCM is loaded if I want to - but it's not needed for some reason. If I boot under DOS, just by setting the blaster lines in config.sys and autoexec.bat, I can get sound in most games. Forget about awe - that's for midi emulation and has no effect on digital sound. The soundcard is basically a SB16 with upgraded parts and will work using the old SB16 drivers if need be. The problem is not software. This card has ALWAYS worked perfectly in another computer with the SAME settings …

Another game that is highly unlikely to run well at all - 11th Hour is a demanding game - fast moving VESA screens and animations, not something I've seen DOSBOX handle at al well - yet. You can't expect all the last DOS games to run well with DOSBOX.

No offense, but Imperium Galactica is a 1997 game and thus it's doubtful it would run well if at all - it uses VESA, so it will run at a snail's pace at best.
