It looks for a specific folder when searching for the settings you entered. If you change the folder, it will look in c:\oldgames\t7g\t7g which doesn't exist so do what wd says. Why did you change it anyway? It's only ASKING for trouble.

It actually works - that error you get when you put cycles to max or auto in 0.65. Set cycles pretty low - to 10 000 or so- and then manually increase them.

Dosbox runs every single Ultima game (except for Akalabeth) just fine and it's perfect for chosing your speed. The difference with moslow is that it actually doesn't make the game less responsive.

Digging this up again: I still have this problem up to this day. Despite the game database saying it works, I come across this problem too in DB 0.66. Will this ever be fixed or do I write it down as "not working"?

I have 800+ games so keeping track of one sheet is not easy. I lost that sheet ages ago too - it was a dark red sheet with black text so it couldn't be copied. I spent ages retyping it in Excell to make sure I'd never lose it but I lost that file 😜 But I believe there's cracks around for it.

If you have a good recent PC, you can use Dosbox to run it. Queen the Eye runs very well on my Conroe E6600 on Dosbox 0.66 RC2.

The game is very sensitive to cycles in the original 0.65. In a later CVS the problem is slightly fixed but the intro still crashes easily. In the 0.66 Release Candidate we're testing right now, though, everything runs perfectly so if you're patient ... 😀.

You're talking about a 1999 game which uses a 3D renderer and lots of memory still working in DOS. Actua Soccer 1 was DOS - Actua Soccer 2 was already Windows only. You probably ended up with a guide to the first game, not the third.

With 0.65 even my Conroe E6600 can't run the game well. You really need 0.66.

I tried the version on Home of the Underdogs and it's the same but it's definately a game thing: you can kill one monster, but not the second. Reminds me a bit of the Borg from Star Trek. It may be in the manual but HOTU didn't have it.

Sounds like a copy protection maybe ? I'll have to try it, but if it happens under Windows XP too, there's a chance it's a game problem and not something that could be fixed by Dosbox.
