Do you have a different monitor to try? Some stuff tries to be clever and detect presence of a monitor, possible the monitor is not detecting for some reason. If not, or it's an original monitor that it darn well should work just fine with, try this old trick which can reset confused digital status …

Usually it's turned on and off in the CMOS setup, in theory clearing the CMOS should return it to default enabled state. I'm gonna try clearing the CMOS and report back! Yeah should be a BIOS setting or jumper to disable on board except on some Packard Bells, they defaulted to onboard as primary but did work with a secondary card. Maybe the onboard video is bad ???
