Ok, but an alternative solution is then finding for example an ASUS P3V4-X. A very nice and fast slot 1 board (as fast or almost as fast as P3B-F) with VIA Apollo Pro A chipset and native fsb 133. It has an ISA slot and you can run 4x512MB Ram on it. for a review: https://www.tomshardware.com/ …

The last time I saw a slot 1 PIII 1Ghz fsb 100 passing by on Ebay it went, or seemed to go, for well over 200 US dollars. [edit] But your original question was about getting your BX board running with a 1Ghz cpu - buying an Intel 815 board is not really a solution for that, or is it ?

The "B" indicates fsb 133. Nice system you have there, btw. You will probably not notice much difference between a Katmai 600 and a Coppermine 600. If you want to go seriously nostalgic you could install a Pentium II/Celeron 266 Mhz @ fsb66 and "enjoy" the early days of the generation 😉.

The 440LX does exist in micro ATX Slot1 version: http://www.motherboard.cz/mb/asus/P2L-M.htm but the choice of processors is rather limited. Have not been able to find a BX version. Like indicated above, there is a lot more choice when you extend the search to VIA chipsets (and to socket 370).
