Ok, I understand that sentiment but I have never used their 'installer' etc. stuff and systematically avoided all the 'inviting' buttons - I just used the site as a source for hard to get software. So, maybe a disclaimer of sorts is necessary for people who try to find obsolete software there today …

In the past I have successfully used circlip pliers to separate the cover(s) of PII SECC's. If used carefully there occurs no damage to the casette at all. To further reduce risk of damage the points of the beak of the plier could be 'insulated' with tape or with isolation from a wire.
