That is a very slow CPU for Serious Sam. That game was released just a few months before the Pentium4 2Ghz for reference.

I am confusing myself when it comes to DOS memory management. In DOS 5.0 when I run mem /c it will tell me I have 0 bytes of contiguous extended memory available. I have 8gb of RAM installed in the computer though. Is this normal or am I missing something to access the memory? EDIT: I should add …

I have used both types too. AFAIK most are JMicron and those can work fine. All of mine use JMicron chips of some sort. I think they might be the same chip in different package sizes. They support ATA standards from PIO through UDMA 133, and connect the drive at SATA 150 so it's as good as you can …
