When I have 64k in there, U30 and U31 have the tag chips in. When I have 256k in there, U43 has the tag chip in.

The 64k was not working originally, no 🙁 I've been unable to get any amount of cache working at all. What are cache controller chips, exactly? Is that different than the chips themselves or the tag chip? I wonder if mine are faulty as well, if so. Thanks.

This likely has more to do with the drive itself and less with the OS or other components. Try a different drive- something newer, or a different brand of burnable CDs. I have a whole pile of drives and they definitely don't all act the same or read the same types of CDs.

All the more reason to use CRTs. After I switched I can never go back to LCD/TFT or anything but a CRT. Yes, they're large, but there's no comparison for this era of computing, in my opinion.

It will, yes. I've done it on several builds. You'll just either need to leave the backplate off, or find one that works and hast the whole for the keyboard lined up correctly.

It's actually a CL GD5429 ISA card. I think it's showing the trident listing there as that was just the system that submitted the comparison result. There appears to also be DOS drivers for it.
