I like using a Savage4 alongside a Voodoo 2 or SLI config in Pentium II systems because the Savage card is one of the better AGP cards for DOS. I have this exact setup in one of my 440BX machines. How are your settings in your bios is everything set properly and saving properly. If your bios battery is low or dead/missing that can cause a whole host of issues.

That is a very nicely built sleeper build. And I love your choice of case I have a few of them and just love how they look and building in them.

Have you double checked that the floppy settings in the bios are set correctly? Have you tried other drives and cables in this system and this floppy in another?

It's possible it has fuses inside as some monitors do but if you can move the power plug then I'd say start there and resolder the connections and see if it works. Cause it sounds like the plug has cracked solder connections.

Which card is it? Have you tried different drives to rule out a software based issue? Also what resolution does the artifacting go away at? I know you said 1600x1200 is find but what other resolutions are fine too.

Hopefully it wasn't damaged in shipping. Did you try taking the back off and making sure that the neck and tube aren't cracked it damaged. It could also be something as simple as just needing a good cleaning and a full recap to get it back up and running.

That's a great Windows XP system and it's built very well nice job keeping it super clean and neat inside. I'm also a very big lover of socket A systems.
