That psu can do 120W, sure. But... no proper EMI input filtering. Only has two non safety rated caps at YC1, YC2. EI33 main transformer and output common coil in that size can do 150W at 60-70C temperatures. The output rectifiers really hint at the max power. Looks like a 20A doube diode in TO220 …

I looked through my older boards and some pentium and 486 had the pnp transistor chopper vrm circuit. Only found a noname board one with TIP127. I think you might be safe with it if everything else test good.

Those exposed copper contacts are prone to oxidisation. You can get it off with a mild-hard eraser (for pencils or pens). What migth cause faliure on that pcb is if the interface, headstack and motor contacts get corroded. Most pre 2000 era drives with more gold coated contacts might be okay. The …

Hello Tomas, The blown part might be a TIP117 pnp transistor. I'm not 100% sure. I have similar boards laying around so I need to check. Also it is possible that other parts in the vrm circuit got damaged too.

I remember once buying Nichivon UR caps some 6-7 years ago. Brand new with the same curved vent/top. Measured them and all parameters were ok. Looks very similar to the ones on Soap's card.
