"key". That's presumably to stop you plugging it in the wrong way round. A 3 pin connector would have ambiguous orientation. Does it matter which direction the speaker current flows though?

Probably something on the Atari 2600. I also remember a visit to the arcades when I was very small and had to be held up to the controls to play. Moon Patrol sticks in my mind but I probably played other things as well.

I can't help with your particular problem, however I usually disable the 256 driver unless a game specifically needs it as it causes stability problems with various other programs. I recently had to image an 80 GB drive over USB 1.1 connection. Fortunately it was mostly empty. Still took some three hours though.

The first Tomb Raider had ambient sounds on the CD not music. This surprised me when I played it for the first time. Where's the music? Are there any other big popular games with no music?

I remember having problems using RMDIR /S in Windows Server 2003 x64. It would bug out for very large directory trees (thousands of subdirectories).

You can probably do this in modern DOS using some kind of FOR magic or by parsing DIR /B /AD calls, but I think those commands are much more basic in DOS 3.3.
