Re: novalogic mig-29 fulcrum, no success..

Thanks Glidos, I really appreciate your efforts so far! Your latest version works in my windows 2000 PC. and it looks very good, only a few small flaws (some missing textures in the cockpit and in the landscape) I attached the log to this post. The strange thing is that it doesn't work on my windows …

Re: novalogic mig-29 fulcrum, no success..

Ok, concerning the problem with the demo running out: 1 - use this game's demo, same game, different airplane: http://downloads.5star-network.com/Games/f16.zip 2 - full versions here, probably, though download is too slow to be practical: http://202.203.208.164/F-16/ http://202.203.208.164/mig-29/ 3 …

Re: novalogic mig-29 fulcrum, no success..

Thanks Glidos, I have tried it immediatly; and I am suprised to see the horizontal bar of garbled stuff is gone now! that has been a chronic problem in every previous attempt. The hud/dialog texts are very readable too, which is also a plus over other wrappers. The white/untextured appearance …

Re: novalogic mig-29 fulcrum, no success..

No luck again, many items look untextured now, yet the sky looks better with psvoodoo. here are two screenshot, (I'll host them for a while): mig29f-psvoodoo.jpg mig29f-openglide009rc7.jpg mig29f-openglide009rc7.jpg mig29f-openglide009rc7.jpg thanks for the suggestion though PS. worth noting is that …

novalogic mig-29 fulcrum, no success..

I am not such an expert on these glide wrappers, I used dgvoodoo for some dos games wtih succes, but today I bought this windows game. It's novalogic's mig 29 (1998).. kind of a dissapointment: no opengl or direct3d support, only glide. Not much info on the web, no real updates? no cd-check patches. …

Re: "Miles" Sound Updates

in DOS
OK, good luck. I just downloaded the demo of redguard. Suprises me to see they added a windows setsound utility. Indeed it is version 4.0d now, though the soundblaster normal/pro/16 dig files are exactly the same amount of bytes as the 3.50E files. I added them to the package listed in my previous …

Re: "Miles" Sound Updates

in DOS
Hey I noticed this topic being revived, I will update the file in the first post. the version of the setsound.exe is 3.50E I haven't tried to update rad windows dll's myself, I fear they might have changed the "interface calls" for the sound routines. Though the idea of getting better features by …

Re: SVGA and VESA Video Cards

in PC Emulation
Are you sure it's not the other way around? I have had just problems with VESA and nVIDIA... Concerning the cards specified in my post, I am very certain nvidia did a better job on VESA stuff, up until mx440/geforce2 at least. I did not mix up any card types in that post. I have not tried any later …

Re: SVGA and VESA Video Cards

in PC Emulation
#sis 6326, I had this card for a little time, it was very cheap. It broke down after playing halflife in opengl/direct3d for some weeks. overheated or something. no complaints on dos compatibility. Got a #trident image 9750 as replacement, was a bit slower if I recall correctly. no complaints on dos …

Re: nVidia VS ATI...

in PC Emulation
I like to play an old DOS game once in a while: In that case forget ATI, cause their VESA compatibitlity is horrible. (tested radeon 9200/9600) Nvidia cards tend to have very good VESA 3.0 support. next I dislike noisy fans on graphics cards. So personally, for that Pentum450, I'd get a Geforce …

Re: Very slow emulation even on fast computer

That is clear then, I needed some obvious examples concerning system specs versus game speeds. My PIII-600 did not seem to pull it off with dosboxed gameslike quarentine/system shock. there is another 1700MHz system here I can try so... But then again I can run about 90% of my old games perfectly …

Re: "Miles" Sound Updates

in DOS
Most of games listed did not detect my sb128 legacy device from within Win98se. with these files I managed to fix that. They run fine now. The native dos sb128 legacy drivers (sbinit.com) are somewhat more compatible on themselves the the windows virtual device. So that is always a better try …

"Miles" Sound Updates

in DOS
People who own a Creative/Ensoniq Soundblaster with Legacy device might try this trick to make more games recognize their "virtual sb16" hope I made somebody happy by sharing this, it sure works for me. Miles sound system drivers. Use these drivers to update games that use older versions. It makes …
