I945p does not support win98. The latest Intel chipsets which do, is the I865 and I915. And yes, even two normal GPUs under 98se causes problems, like in the mentioned thread above. I did overclock my MX440, but I glued an 80mm fan to the heatsink. When I removed it, it got pretty hot, and the performance gain is...worthless. I would throw the MX440 to the garbage, and get the Ti4200. Same drivers, over triple the performance boost! Remember that the MX440 is the today's …

You must get the NVIDIA 512MB+ VRAM 98SE patch form RLoew, it's paid. And the 82.69 unofficial drivers. MAYBE it will work...MAYBE!

E5800 is the best CPU you can put onto it. Make sure it's the R3.0 version of the motherboard you have. It has to have a black PCB. It's the best CPU with official 98SE support. Don't go with Q6600, even though it is supported, the 1066 FSB causes severe boot times increase, and lower DDR memory …

I had the EXACT same FX 5600 Ultra, same brand and everything, weird. Remember to use 45.23 drivers with it, not never! Also, the PNY Verto card is purple, which doesn't really fit with the build, but that's nitpicking 😀

98SE barely supports PCI-E to begin with, SLi just ain't gonna happen. 98SE supports PCI-E quite well, just add the device id to the inf file! Reinstall 98SE by running setup with this switch: setup /p i There's a space between p and i. It will disable screwed up ACPI implementation on 98SE, and might fix shudown issues.
