Re: Windows 98 and SLI.

I945p does not support win98. The latest Intel chipsets which do, is the I865 and I915. And yes, even two normal GPUs under 98se causes problems, like in the mentioned thread above. So no, no SLI under 98SE. Do not except a 1999 OS to do everything. Even I know its limits. And trust me, I tried some …

Re: Best Drivers for GeForce4 MX-440

I did overclock my MX440, but I glued an 80mm fan to the heatsink. When I removed it, it got pretty hot, and the performance gain is...worthless. I would throw the MX440 to the garbage, and get the Ti4200. Same drivers, over triple the performance boost! Remember that the MX440 is the today's …

Re: Steam works on Win 2000, problems with games

in Windows
Meh, Win2000 is not Win9x, you can actually run new stuff onto it, especially with BlackWingCat's Extended Kernel. It's not too hard, now try making it run under Win9x and you get mad propz...at least from me :) I successfully ran GTA IV on Win2000 on a 6600GT AGP, by pretty much just installing the …

Re: Windows 98 and SLI.

98SE barely supports PCI-E to begin with, SLi just ain't gonna happen. 98SE supports PCI-E quite well, just add the device id to the inf file! The best GPU you can run under 98SE is the 7900 GTX (512MB GPUs requires a paid patch though, 256MB do not), to have those record 98SE 3DMark scores! Also, …

Re: Windows 98 and SLI.

There's NO SLI support in 98SE, period! There's NO 8xxx series support in 98SE, period! Only NVIDIA 7xxx series and below, both PCI-E and AGP are supported in 98SE, period! 8xxx series users Unified Shaders, there's NO drivers which support Unified Shaders GPUs in 98SE. Note that the Radeon's best …

Re: Windows 98se reboots on shutdown

Try following these instructions: http://www.mdgx.com/newtip15.htm I've never done them, as I always install 98SE with the /p i switch. Also, try removing some RAM, 256MB is enough for your rig. IF you can't, limit it by using MaxPhysPage switch. Also, try removing your sound card, or other …
