Panzer/Allied General and Command Aces of the Deep?

in Windows
hey, anyone managed to run them under win10? note that I'm looking to get the windows(95) versions going, I know the DOS versions can be launched with DOSBox. I'm guessing some sort of ddraw/dx wrapper would work, but I haven't managed to get into those just yet - any recommendations? thanks.

Reputator wrote: How many Glide games support 32-bit color anyway (genuine question)? I know the Unreal games don't do true 32-bit color in Glide. very few - off the bat, I only remember Turok2, and I'm not 100% sure even on that. but it's not a big deal, as you can force 32bit for glide via the …

Re: Voodoo4 related questions

V4 is a standalone card, no way to hook it up via any sort of pass through cable. the mentioned cards should coexist without issues in one system, but you will either have to switch cables or monitor inputs for glide games. if I remember correctly, V4 will work ok as a secondary card, but 3dfx tools …

Re: D201GLY2 audio not cooperating under win98se

Quake3 and System Shock2 (2.46, DX9 mode) ran decently under xp (800*600), didn't test anything 3D under win9x yet, but as the driver supports 9x properly, I have no reason to think it shouldn't work - I'll see soon enough, I suppose. //D3D is fine, but opengl locks up. will try a clean win98se …

Re: D201GLY2 audio not cooperating under win98se

yes, hw wise, everything is set up properly - if I boot to the xp drive, everything works fine. tried to force down the sis7012 driver, and again, the device looks fine, but there is no sound. guess I'l just keep downloading and installing random drivers until I get bored. was hoping that someone …

Re: D201GLY2 audio not cooperating under win98se

same behavior with the wdm driver under winme (the ntkern.vxd, mmdevldr.vxd error). the vxd driver can be loaded via the device manager and shows as working properly, but there is still no sound (both win98se and winme). looks like I'm screwed, unless I manage to find some magical driver that would …

D201GLY2 audio not cooperating under win98se

so I was thinking this board could make a nice tiny voodoo box, and while it doesn't officially support win9x, I was able to get all the devices running with drivers from the sis webpage (well, "motherboard resources" have an exclamation mark, but I'm pretty sure it's some ACPI thing I don't really …

Re: PCI Card advice.

ain't nothing wrong with a backup or two, just make sure you don't end up like some of us.. with hundreds of them. also, do run gpu-z on that 8400, I'd like to know whether it's really 64bit - thanks.

Re: PCI Card advice.

not sure whether the machine can support a single 2Gb module, I'm guessing not - two 1GB modules would have been much safer. also yeah, the integrated graphics (gma 950) is awful, DX9c in theory (intel's compliance to standards tends to be quite loose, to say it politely), but just a lot of suck …
