CPU could have ran fine at stock speeds but not with any OC, May have needed more volts to run at stock speeds, he may have been able to dump the clock multi and keep the QPI/fsb up.

I got the dk-x48 today, its a nice board. I did not know this but the dk plus modles had better VRMs. Its 6 phase digital vs 4 phase analogue. That aside I know I sead this before. But now I mean it. Good lord, a deer PSU. I'd get rid of that PSU ASAP, all deer PSU"s are junk and were known to blow up or start fires. Otherwise the system looks nice.

at first I believed a single 240 rad wouldn't cut it and considerd another 120mm rad but seems this would only be a waste of time and wouldn't give a edge. Busted caps. might want to fix that. Also check if there is a usb or ps/s power jumper. it should let you switch between 5v and 5vsb, they moving the jumper to the other setting.
