I've used a Voodoo 1 with an IBM DX2/66 before. Board was a Microstar MS-4145 (ALi M1489 chipset).

LOOP is definitely fast on early K6-2s (single cycle), much quicker than on P2. That's why the K6 has issues with Windows 95a >= 300MHz. Maybe they slowed it down for the CXT core?

A DLC wouldn't work, but an SLC is completely pin compatible with a 386SX - that's the whole point of it's existence.

t changing the "F SEGMENT SHADOW RAM" option to Enabled or Cached (it was set at disabled) then the HDD would work fine, even the 20GB one with DiskManager overlay. Here is a BIOS pic with this option: Now what does that have to do with HDD usage and OS loading? AMIBIOS stores hard disc …

The RAMDAC looks to be a TR9C1710, which is a 256-colour only DAC. So that card can't show more than 256 colours regardless of how much memory is fitted.

Strangely though, I don't care about it in the slightest. So I don't see why I should put in the work to implement it instead of something I actually do want to work on.

In 1990 I was still using a BBC Micro. The first PC didn't come until Christmas 1993 (486SX/25).

Thanks for that leileilol. When v0.7's in a state to run Windows again I'll give Diablo a go. There are at least two major CPU fixes already made so it's possible the crashing has already been fixed. Incidentally, how slow is Diablo with the cache not on 'infinite'? Status window should give an idea …

It's about half a semitone. It would be, if PCem was generating output for 49716Hz and playing back at 48kHz. However, it's generating output for 48kHz and playing back at 48kHz. So people with perfect pitch won't notice, as the pitch is correct.

Does anyone actually care if the sample rate is ~3.6% off? You're never going to notice it.

Yes, that's the output sampling rate of OPL2/OPL3. Obviously no modern system supports this sampling rate so PCem uses 48kHz instead. Not sure where the above mentioned 22kHz come from.

V0.6 now out. Windows 95 now works, along with 3.x enhanced mode, there's FPU emulation (Quake, Quake 2, Screamer Rally, Tomb Raider etc now work), bugfixes, and a load of other stuff.

That's irrelevant - it runs with 3.5" drives (which aren't BIOS supported on the AT) and the 5.25" drive has problems on newer machines. I'm struggling to see the relevance really - the problem is with jumpers on the drive, not the motherboard.

I'm trying to use a TEAC-55F 5.25" drive with an old IBM AT board, with no success so far. I suspect a problem somewhere in the myriad of jumpers on this drive - does anyone know what jumper settings I should be using on a PC?
