Well an update, i got a different cache chip (same model) and now when I run cache32 it doesn't lock up, however msd (ver 2.00 and 2.11) for one and other diagnostic type programs will lock when checking the system. The EMS driver I posted that worked wasn't specifically branded as a packard bell driver, just the right driver that worked I guess. Still no luck on finding the cache32.com file but I did end up finding the EMS driver for this machine that does work. I posted it just incase anyone else needs it.

A.C., thanks for the heads up with the cpu upgrade option. I will keep that in mind. Any other thoughts on the cache upgrade from the previously posted ebay link? I just am paranoid that I will let the magic smoke out if I get the wrong thing.

I have a packard bell 386 machine that has a 386 chip that looks like it is socketed. I have never messed with a chip like this and thought I would ask before I tried to remove it from the mainboard. I would like to put a 33Mhz DX chip in there as it is currently a sx-20.

For the record the molex 08-50-0106 was the correct terminal to use with the astec power supply that the old dell and older apple Macintosh use.

I got the 08-50-0114 pins and these do not fit the Astec supply pin. Gonna keep looking for the correct size pin.

The geometry is my main issue with this BIOS as there is no raw values to modify, it is just hard set to auto detect. It doesn't even show the values in the BIOS, only the size. Your right, cpu-world shows that CPU to be 5volts. Not sure if the 3.3v is just for future low power cpus or what.
