I also received a McCake recently from @dreamblaster and I am really happy about it. Can't wait for the 3.5 or 5.25" display-bay 😀 In the mean time switching soundfonts or mt32-model is very convenient with mt32-pi-control. Great job!

This is a standard boxed Pentium 233 MMX. They had the cooler "permanently" attached to the cpu

I'd really like to archive this machine's drive while it's still working, but I'm not entirely sure how just yet..... no RJ45 Ethernet installed, I don't think I have any compatible cards in any of my other Macs (I have an LC630 and G3 Desktop with working Ethernet, at least).... could maybe do it …

Definitely check the caps on that board. When I got mine a few years ago, nearly every cap was bad 🙁 And notice the one between the pci slots. With my board the pcb marking was wrong for the cap and the polarity switched

Mine also doesn't accept EDO Ram. It's also a BTA-Revision chipset

I managed to pull off the plastic from the ATX connector without damaging it, and somehow it seems that only a few pins are really connected to anything 😁 I cannot imagine that the ATX connector is connected through any inner layers of the pcb. Am I wrong? Sorry for triple post

Alright I checked some connections and there is no continuity directly between the 3.3V of the ATX connector and the specific AGP-3.3V-Pins 🙁 Attached are some images from the board

I will post pictures of the board this evening (CEST time). There was another transistor between the cpu and memory slots. This was just a NEC K2941 which seems to be a field effect transistor. I also searched the net for a good AGP pinout from the solder side but couldn't find it

Anyone have a clue if my board is affected by this? I could only find 1 voltage regulator near the ATX connector which is supposedly for the cpu voltage (LX8384). Does this mean that the AGP port is supplied directly from the ATX-connector?

My next project will be a P2-333 Build with the Gigabyte GA-686LX Rev 1D and I wanted to install a Voodoo3 3000 AGP in it. Does anyone know if the card works properly in it? I read about 3.3V issues with earlier AGP-Boards and these cards.

Yeah, maybe the proprietary stuff from Compaq is also guilty 😀 The funny thing is, that when I use a slowdown utility the instruments are playing fine in Heart of China Intro, but when it's disabled again it's playing fine too 😁

Hmm I imagine maybe the rom file on my MT32Pi-SDCard is corrupt due to turning it off while reading or something. I have to check at home. The system is not too fast. It's a Compaq Deskpro 486/33M EISA-System with DX2 Overdrive.

I recently installed the nice X2GS on my PCMIDI-Card and it works beautifully. One tiny issue is that I have also a MT32Pi connected to the MIDI-Port of the card. With some games a couple of Instruments sound wrong from the MT32. Is there a way to disable the Wavetable Module on the PCMIDI? I …
