Maybe a 5V -> 3.3V mod is be possible for boards that would support a DX4 but require a separate voltage regulator (that is often implemented as daughterboard that can be pinned on the motherboard like on a FIC 486-GIO-VP). So this could be some kind of a "486 overdrive" replacement.

You might want to avoid soundcards (e.g. some SB16 versions) with the notorious Hanging note bug to get the best experience out of your Waveblaster board.

This does not happen with a "Level One KVM-0212", though it's only a 2 port model. Is it the same phenomenon if you powercycle the PS2TOSERIAL adapter and connect the mouse?

In our local supermarket, they set up some kind of "trade library" some time ago which is free to use for everybody. You bring your books you've finished reading and trade them against something else. No supervisor/clerk necessary - it's just a big book shelf at the entrance. And this system works …

Here, someone stated that the Radeon 8000 would be the last supported card on this board: https://www.retrospace.net/infoseiten/readm.php?id=2 Any more recent ATI card would cause issues. Same with Geforce starting from Geforce 4.
