Re: DOSBox-X branch

@TheGreatCodeholio: From the article, it seems to be a very simple challenge/response system in detecting what type of Intellimouse you have. When first queried, the mouse should respond as a standard Intellimouse, then when challenged, it should give the proper response to be detected as a …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

According to the link, an Intellimouse should operate as a standard PS/2 mouse at power-on or when reset, with a device ID of 00h until the host sends the following command sequence: Set sample rate 200 Set sample rate 100 Set sample rate 80 At this point the host then issues the "Get device ID" …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

Thanks for the info. I will try to remember to leave int33=false when using CuteMouse. I have one other quick question, if you don't mind. When using the /O switch with CuteMouse to enable scroll wheel support, the cursor will only move up and down and not left and right. Does DOSBox-X not have any …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

Using Ctrl+F10 to capture the mouse did the trick! Thanks! I can't believe I forgot that simple trick. I knew there must be some simple something I was missing. I'm kind of glad it happened though because this post might help someone else that is trying to figure this out and save them some trouble …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

Is compatibility with CuteMouse currently broken? I have a particular game that does not like the built-in mouse driver, and in the past I've used CuteMouse to get around this problem, but it seems to not be working in the current build. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? BTW, I've already …

Re: Windows, Doom, Apogee OPL3 Synthesizer.

@datajake1999: That's great news. At least it is within the realm of possibility then that we could someday see a Linux version of this great synth. BTW, you may want to give Linux Mint with the Cinnamon desktop a try. It is the closest Linux version to being like Windows and it is very intuitive …

Re: Windows, Doom, Apogee OPL3 Synthesizer.

@schlang: I'm not anti-Windows. I'm anti privacy invasion and I'm also anti corporate-assisted government spying. Both of which, Microsoft have been discovered to have been guilty of doing and are currently, at this very moment, guilty of doing. There is a huge difference. Also as Digger kindly …

Re: Windows, Doom, Apogee OPL3 Synthesizer.

@datajake1999: Do you have a Linux version planned? Munt has a Linux version and since your project is based on Munt, I though it might not be too difficult to do a port to Linux. I'm sure there would be many people such as myself that would appreciate a way of running this great synth on Linux. As …

Re: Windows, Doom, Apogee OPL3 Synthesizer.

@datajake1999: Many thanks for updating your Github Wiki page. The more details, the better. :) I enjoy studying the history of how these programs come about and to have a better understanding of their internal workings. The better I understand their internal workings, the better use I can make of …

Re: Windows, Doom, Apogee OPL3 Synthesizer.

@datajake1999: I love the work that you've done with this project so far. I've already spent several happy hours today playing around with this synth. If you don't mind me asking, how did you do the Apogee version of this synth? It sounds totally different than the stock "Windows OPL3 Synth" version …

Re: Yamaha YMF7x4 Guide

Bingo! I finally found a working link to the very elusive YMF7x4 Utilities 1.0 AKA "Yamaha Utilities"! :) http://www23.tok2.com/home/muvosquare/test/y7x4util10.lzh The only problem is that it is half in English and half in Japanese. Do we have any members here that can translate the Japanese parts …

Re: Yamaha YMF7x4 Guide

@Stretch: I just spent the last several hours trying the method that you posted and I've come closer with it than I have by any other method so far; however, I still can't seem to get the ports opened up for FM passthrough to DOSBox. Everything else is working flawlessly under Windows 7 32bit. I'm …
