I've used a SanDisk Ultra II 2GB compact flash just fine with a 430VX motherboard in the past, but these things have a ton of counterfeits and revisions so you have to just try regardless. Hmmm, could also be the motherboard's fault. I have an Abit SL10T (815 motherboard with Tultian CPU support) board here and it refuses to do any sort of PCI dos sound card emulation, except for vortex cards. You will need to try with a different card to see. Have you tried Fortemedia FM-801 cards? …

Not a Banshee? Oh well.. Permedia 2, 128ZX and Savage4 (aside from the LT version) are all lacking in my collection so I don't mind either way.. I hope it's not an i740 though, I already have one.
