It's interesting. If it isa, then modem can assign self to com ports, available for dos. U must look isa pnp configuration space for it ports.

Win3x driver must include .386 files, not .vxd. Also, PCI modems use Non-Legacy COM ports, and cant work in DOS/Win3x.

no. all real DVDs (disks, contains 1-5 *.ts files up to 1 GB sized) is MPEG2 only.

Cyberlink PowerDVD possible have HW MPEG2 acceleration on FX5200... but not MPEG4/AVC, sure.

"Catweasel is a universal PCI floppy disk controller that uses unmodified PC diskdrives." So it possible try pci to pcie adapters and Catweasel... I'm sure not that its will work good. Especially with bootable disks, or with newest os as Vista+. Or better find some asrock mobo with floppy connector. …

386 + NIC + MSDOS Packet Driver (or NDIS/ODI packet wrapper) + Arachne = Internet. I do this, look for weather site on 386, just for fun. Or, if ur 386 have lot memory (16+ MB) - u can install Win3x + TCP stack + IE 3-5 or Opera 3.62.

ya, ya... first ARMs also was very primitive... not OISC, but closest. now ARMs have three mode of executing instructions, NEON, MultiCores, TrustZone, Cryptos, UEFI with GPT...

Pentium and other PCI mobos have one little problem - there is impossible to run disk subsystem of win3x in 32BDA mode, even using only good old less-then-504MB hdds. WfWg 3.11 can run in 32BFA mode (via ifshlp.sys), but it is NOT replacement for 32BDA.

My P3 800 machine give 7.56 Speedsys score. With setmul or with bios settings - one score, 7.56. Its low? Possible its related with slightly buggy memory, which all 768 MB work at 100 MHz w/o errors, not 133... Also, WC run only with emm386... else i get halt.

There is NO problems with 9x on SATA disks in IDE/Legacy/Compat mode (work via Legacy ports 1E8/1F8/3E8/3F8). All OLD mobos have this settings. There IS some problems with 9x on SATA disks in Native SATA mode (NOT AHCI, only ports FFxx). All NEW mobos have this mode enabled even if say "IDE mode". …
